Play is serious business for child development

The Playful Packs project was inspired by findings from the Social Distancing and Development study which showed that parents who spent more time engaging in different activities with their child during the COVID-19 lockdowns reported that they had stronger thinking skills. Find out more about these study findings on the project website.

Brains are built in stages; just as a house needs a sturdy foundation to support the walls and roof, a brain needs a good base to support all future development. Doing activities like the ones in this pack are the bricks that build your child’s brain. You can find out more information about the science and how you can build your child’s brain on the Oxford Brain Story website.
